Brief/
To develop children's interest in and enjoyment of the dramatic arts and their experience of theatre.
To provide an extension and create a room dedicated to the performing arts.
Design/
The School wishes to concentrate and specialises in the arts subjects, with particular focus on performing arts. With existing staff expertise they hope to build on their growing reputation of excellence in this area, by providing a specific teaching area which could also be used as a rehearsal and small performance space. xsite extended an existing classroom area and remodelled the roof to improve acoustics and allow installation of a bespoke flexible tiered seating for the space which can be moved within the room and to other areas of the school providing the opportunity for tiered performance seating and storage.
