Erimus Housing
Brief/
Live/Work provides dedicated work space co-located
with where people choose to live. They cover a range of
configurations for people who want to place different emphasis on their
workplace and who desire a better choice of where and how to live. In
reaction to this Erimus Housing asked us to design 20 Live Work units
to sit alongside the Boho1 Digital City development in Middlesbrough.
Design/
The
development aims to take a contemporary approach towards building shape
and massing, use of materials, fenestration and internal spatial
arrangements which will set it aside from most volume house
developments and reflects the dual use inside. The development consists
of 1 and 2 bed apartments over 3 and 4 storey heights. Common staircase
enclosures, larger scale glazing elements over double spaces, roof
terraces and balconies will contribute to defining and expressing the
design intentions described above.
