Project Info:

Blyth Workspace is a landmark new development located on Blyth Quayside to regenerate a long term vacant site on the North East Coast and help to enhance Blyth Estuary’s reputation as a centre of excellence in renewable energy and research. It is at the centre of a mixed use development of the wider Commissioners Quay site being developed by Arch, The Northumberland Development Company as part of the broader regeneration of Blyth Estuary and town centre.

The Blyth Workspace is new, state of the art serviced accommodation facility situated on approximately 0.6 hectares of brownfield land. The building offers 21,000 sq ft of contemporary managed workspace within a 30,000 sq ft shell, with combined incubator and business growth space aimed at microbusinesses, SME’s and outposts of larger firms developing a local base.

The building features north and south wings of office accommodation orientated around a central zone of shared space featuring breakout zones, tea points, shared meeting room, reception area, clubroom and hot desking points.

Externally the building is designed to appear contemporary whilst sit comfortably adjacent to the Blyth Harbour Conservation area. Traditional slop-moulded bricks are used alongside standing seam roofing and lead-grey cladding panels. Pastel coloured glazed units accent the façade and relate to the seaside location.

The building achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating.
