Project Info:

The Commissioners Quay Residential, Blyth scheme forms the third phase of the commissioners quay site, following on from the successful Blyth Workspace and Commissioners Quay Inn developments.

The scheme comprises 49 terraced two, three and four bed residential properties laid out in a series of converging and diverging terrace rows. These terraces are orientated east west across the site with the deliberate intention of offering sea views, taking advantage of aspect and creating courtyards between the housing.

It is envisaged the communal spaces will have open railings to enhance their connection with the Staithes river front whilst engendering a sense of private space. The open courtyards will also help provide a sense of community within the new development.

The buildings are clad with a variety of four high quality bricks, with the intention of create a contemporary building form using traditional materials. These reference the previous development phases on Commissioners Quay and the local mix of Georgian and Victorian terrace runs, in particular the fragmented styles of the nearby Bath Terrace

Planning Approval was granted in 2016 and work is progressing towards a start on site in early 2018.
