Project Info:
Brief: A rear extension to a large Victorian semi detached Villa in Jesmond. The aim was to remove a series of existing rear extensions and replace them with a single new structure providing a more coherent space which rationalised the kitchen, dining and casual living areas of the house.
Design: A simple sharp modernist aesthetic was adopted inside and out to contrast clearly with the original house. The result is a single ‘super-room’ housing kitchen, dining and everyday living spaces stretching across the full width of the house. A wall of slim framed sliding glass opens up to a new decked area and the south facing garden beyond.
