Project Info:
Brief: Refurbish and extend disused Victorian factory building to provide ‘move on’ office accommodation for businesses in the creative industries sector.
Design: The design retains and enhances the qualities of the existing brick structure while sensitively extending it to provide 2,600sqm of office space
An external courtyard has been created between the two wings of the existing building, and at its centre the Victorian brick factory chimney, a landmark in the area, has been refurbished and illuminated at night. The scheme achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating and utilised Biomass boiler and naturally ventilated office spaces.
